10 Versatile Spring Outfit Ideas for Every Style

Sometimes it’s just so nice to not have to even think too much about what you’re going to wear for the day. Casual outfits are a go-to for a casual yet put-together look.

It’s simple and easy to recreate with pieces you likely already have in your closet. You can add in some more unique or seasonal pieces to your capsule wardrobe staples to create tons of adorable spring outfits.

I’ve put together some of my favorite ideas in the hopes that it gives you some inspiration to try out a handful of different looks for any occasion this season.

1. Athleisure Sets

You would truly have to convince me to get out of a great athleisure set. I have so many matching sets from places like Alo, Hoka, Nike, and Beyond Yoga, and they are my absolute go-to for casual days.

Say a friend wants to go on a hike and then grab a bite to eat afterward. A matching set is the perfect solution. They are simple, quick to throw on, and always look so stylish.

2. Trench Coat With Jeans and Sneakers

I will forever love an outfit that combines a hat, a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. This look is such a tried-and-true combination that you know will always be in style.

It’s especially perfect for those unexpectedly cool spring days when you need an extra layer to stay warm. The only thing to keep in mind is that the weather might warm up, leaving you carrying your coat around.

But that’s not a huge issue if you plan on being inside for most of the day.

3. Maxi Dresses

A great maxi dress is a non-negotiable for a well-rounded wardrobe. I love how easy they are to dress up or down, and even when you go for a casual vibe, you still feel like a total style icon.

A classic choice is definitely a sleek black spaghetti strap dress, and it’s even better if it has a slit! I have one myself and have styled it for so many different events.

I remember wearing it for the first time to my sister’s birthday dinner with a fitted denim jacket, some white sneakers, and a little lime green bag. I also threw it on with white sneakers after running a marathon for our celebration dinner.

4. Striped T-Shirt and Shorts

Some combinations are just timeless, and a striped shirt with denim shorts is one of them. I love pairing a striped tee (my favorite right now is a white, red, and blue one from H&M) with some distressed denim shorts.

It gives off major Party in the USA vibes. That said, it’s not exactly a look I’d choose for dinner. For a more elevated take, I’d do something like the model is wearing. She has on a striped shirt, but the linen shorts really bump up the whole look.

5. Button-Up Shirt and Jeans

This pairing is one of my favorites for spring because it feels so effortless, but you can easily make it dressy or keep it casual. What’s even better is that this outfit works just as well for a day at the office as it does for a dinner out.

You can choose a button-up with long sleeves or short sleeves. Any color or pattern works, though I’m partial to a solid, earthy tone or a vertical stripe pattern.

When it comes to the jeans, you can’t go wrong. I’m still a fan of skinny jeans, but this top would also be great with a flared or straight leg style.

6. White Dresses

A white dress is seriously the perfect spring outfit. I wore a short-sleeved one not too long ago on a boat trip in Cabo, and I got so many compliments on it!

The hem hit about halfway down my thigh, and it had pockets, which means it was cute and functional. And if you’re trying to figure out what shoes to pair with a white dress, you have tons of choices.

I went with caramel-colored sandals, but the dress would have looked just as good with white sneakers or heels in any color.

7. Crop Top and Cargo Pants

Looking for another amazing casual spring outfit? You have to try a crop top and cargo pants.

I know a floral top might seem a little expected for spring, but I think it works so well this time of year when all the flowers are blooming.

The model here is wearing her outfit with cream-colored pointy heels, which definitely elevates the look. You could also dress it down by swapping the heels for some sneakers.

For an ultra-casual approach, try a classic white crop top with green cargo pants.

8. Tori Dresses

I have to say, I’ve never actually worn a tori dress myself. I came across this style while I was looking for the best casual spring outfits, and I immediately fell in love.

In case you’re not familiar with them either, tori dresses are essentially shirt-dresses. They can have short or long sleeves, but they typically feature a collar and some buttons, which gives them a really preppy feel.

9. Pleated Dresses

I don’t know what it is, but a pleated dress just screams spring to me. The key is to dress them down with low-key accessories and a pair of sneakers.

10. Color-Blocked Dresses

The whole idea is to use colors that complement each other to add more dimension to your look. But that can be tricky if you don’t enjoy figuring out complementary colors.

If that’s the case, you’re better off finding something that is already color-blocked, like the dress shown here.
