I’ll be the first to admit I have a major soft spot for eyeliner. It’s my secret weapon for taking an eye look from zero to one hundred in under a minute.
The winged cat-eye is iconic. It’s sexy, fresh, and gives such a great lift. But even a classic can start to feel a little stale.
Ready for a change? I put together 27 seriously cool eyeliner looks to give you some major inspiration.
1. Smudged Eyeliner

This is the perfect choice for anyone who, like me, sometimes struggles with a super sharp cat-eye. I love that your first eyeliner application doesn’t need to be flawless since you’ll be smudging it out anyway!
It creates a look that’s incredibly sexy and still totally appropriate for the office.
2. Turquoise Eyeliner
Source: @makeupbyan
What I love most about a turquoise liner is how graphic it looks, and it complements every eye color so well. The key to pulling off a bright liner is to keep the rest of your makeup minimal or neutral.
3. Black & Gold Double Eyeliner
Source: @daniela_beirana
You can elevate your standard cat-eye with a crisp touch of gold liner. Gold is such a perfect way to bring some brightness to your eyes.
The application is so simple, too. Once you’re happy with your eyeshadow, just draw your normal cat-eye flick and trace a line of gold right above it. It’s so easy and looks amazing!
4. Neon Orange Eyeliner
To get a cat-eye that really stands out, just fill in your liner with a neon orange shade, or any other vibrant color you love.
I think this look is a great “go-to” for spring and summer. It’s also one of those rare looks that feels just right for both day and night.
5. Gold Rhinestone Eyeliner
Source: @sabellamakeup
This rhinestone liner is definitely not your average winged cat-eye. If you want to apply some rhinestones to your eyelids, any eyelash glue will work perfectly.
6. Brown Winged Eyeliner
A brown eyeliner will beautifully intensify any eye color. As you can tell, it pairs flawlessly with gold and brown eyeshadows.
I am seriously obsessed with this look! How about you?
7. Black Eyeliner with a Pop of White
A little bit of white eyeliner can really add some spice to your eye look. This one feels like the ultimate choice for music festivals.
So, you should definitely try adding some white lines and dots to your eye makeup for the next Coachella.
8. White Winged Eyeliner
Your eyeliner doesn’t have to be dark all the time; there are so many other ways to line your lids.
You can always play with different colors, especially during the summer. This look is so far from ordinary.
9. Rainbow Eyeliner
Source: @iheartmakeupart
A rainbow liner is ideal for days when you want to switch out your usual cat-eye. It’s so bright and vibrant, and the colors just scream spring and summer! You can get this look in just a few easy steps.
Step 1: Start by creating a winged line in black. You can totally skip this if you don’t need a guide for the rainbow liner.
Step 2: Next, grab a small detailer or an angled liner brush. Use small, steady strokes to apply a pink eyeshadow to the inner corner of your eye. To make the colors pop more, you can wet your brush with a fixing spray or water.
Step 3: Continue with an orange color, blending it into the pink. Just be sure to clean your brush before switching to a new color.
Step 4: Then, apply yellow (or gold), green, light blue, and dark blue eyeshadows. When you’re happy with the rainbow effect, apply a white liner to your waterline. This little trick will help your eyes look bigger.
Step 5: All that’s left is to apply some mascara and false lashes.
10. Black and Turquoise Eyeliner

Bold and electric makeup is a fantastic choice for anyone who wants to stand out from the crowd. Sadly, electric eyeshadows can be tough to pull off, and you might accidentally end up with an ’80s prom queen vibe.
Instead, I suggest trying the trend by picking up a few vibrant eyeliners. You will not regret it!
11. Copper Sequin Eyeliner

Bring a burst of color to your makeup with a copper sequin liner. If you want all eyes on you, this look is one to try for your next party or special occasion.
12. Pink & Purple Ombre Eyeliner

Summer is calling for vibrant and colorful eye-makeup looks just like this one. To get it, just follow the few easy steps under the rainbow eyeliner look (#9).
This has fewer colors, but the technique is exactly the same.
13. Gold & Black Look
Here’s another version of a black and gold eyeliner combination that I’m obsessed with! Isn’t the technique just the coolest?
14. Purple Glitter Eyeliner

You can make a statement with this gorgeous glitter liner. It’s the perfect look for a night out with your girlfriends, right?
The focus should really be on the eyeliner, so try not to use any vibrant eyeshadow colors. Some brown shades in the crease will add depth and make your eyes look bigger.
Apply them using a clean, fluffy brush. It really does all the work for you.
15. Black & Silver Glitter Eyeliner

For eyes that are sparkling and dazzling, I definitely recommend this look. A thick eyeliner is so hot right now, and I mean, who doesn’t love a little glitter? I dare you to give it a try!
16. Eyeliner Cut Crease

You can frame part of your crease for a look that’s absolutely fierce. Would you wear this on a night out?
17. Black Eyeliner with a Heart
Source: @kawaiidoll1
What a cute way to level up your eyeliner routine! This look is all about the tiny details, so you’ll need a little patience. The heart shape is made with a heart sticker or some confetti.
If you have a steady hand and some skills, you could even create the heart without using any stickers. So lovely and easy!
18. Blue Winged Eyeliner
Source: @tinycindymakeup
Make your eyes pop with a blue winged liner. Blue is one of the most flattering makeup colors for brown eyes. Blue eyeshadows can be a little tricky to pull off, so I’d opt for a blue eyeliner instead.
I just love the contrast between a royal blue shade and brown eyes. Stunning!
19. Black & White Ombre Eyeliner

Nothing will brighten up your eye quite like a white liner. If an all-white liner isn’t really your thing, I recommend this black and white ombre version. It’s still a total stunner!
20. Kim Kardashian Inspired Double Winged Eyeliner

The Kardashians and Jenners are known for having the most flawless makeup looks. That isn’t surprising, especially with the number of makeup artists who work for them.
One of the most popular Kim K. makeup looks is definitely this double winged liner with a pop of white. This look is one you have to try!
21. Purple Winged Eyeliner

Feeling a bit adventurous? Go ahead and give this look a try! When you’re using bright and colorful shades as your eyeshadow, it’s so important to blend everything together nicely.
This color combination works best for brown eyes. This look will definitely turn some heads, that’s for sure!

Here is another take on a black and gold eyeliner. The contrast between them is absolutely gorgeous.
Two tiny lines in the right colors can completely transform your makeup look in a big way! The best part is that you don’t need any special makeup skills to rock this look.

Sometimes less is more! Gold tones will bring out all the shine and sparkle in your eyes. A gold liner looks so glamorous when it’s paired with a black one.
