Halloween is just around the corner, and I’m already planning my look!
This year, I’m all about half-face makeup. It’s such a fun and creative way to get into the spirit.
You can be spooky, pretty, or mash up two of your favorite characters. To get you as excited as I am, here are some of the coolest ideas out there.
1. Half IT Clown
Source: @_danielaaleonn
If you’re an IT fan, this one’s for you!
We’ve got a half-Pennywise look that is seriously next level. I love how the artist created this illusion of a glam mask peeling away to show the terrifying clown underneath.
It’s such an awesome concept that is guaranteed to scare pretty much everyone. You can totally find tutorials online to nail both the peeling skin effect and the Pennywise makeup.
2. Glitzy Mask

For those who want to get into the Halloween spirit without going full-on scary, I’ve got you covered.
This glitzy mask look is just so stunning. I think it’s such a gorgeous idea because it lets you look both pretty and a little mysterious.
A mask like this is super versatile, too; you could easily pair it with a vampire or ghost costume. It’s a great chance to play around and experiment with your look!
3. Skeleton Prom Queen
Source: @makeupbyabigailemma
Did you ever dream of being prom queen? Well, here’s a spooky twist on that!
I’m obsessed with this skeleton prom queen design. One eye is totally glam and pink, while the rest of the look is a pink skeleton complete with rhinestones and glitter.
It’s such a fun and spooky concept, and a total showstopper for anyone wanting a more unique costume.
4. Chucky Makeup

Calling all Game of Thrones fans! If you love the show, then this half-makeup look is a must-see.

This next makeup idea is an absolute must-have for any fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
For this look, the artist has masterfully recreated Sally on one side of her face and Jack Skellington on the other. It’s such a cool concept! You could try something similar or even use two different characters from that movie or another one you love.

If you’re a big fan of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale, then this makeup is totally for you. Half of her face looks like the girl, but with some scratches, and the other side looks like a wolf!
This is such a creative take on the classic Halloween costume. You could recreate this or even make the scratches a bit bloodier if you’re going for a scarier look.
10. Creepy Freddy Krueger Makeup

Freddy Krueger is another horror movie icon, and this is a really cool half-and-half take. One side is glam, and the other side is burnt, just like Freddy’s face.

Skeletons are a classic Halloween go-to, and here we have a cool half-face look to check out. For this, the makeup artist has created a spooky skeleton on one side of her face, while the other side is glam with blood drips coming from her eyes.
This look really ticks all the boxes. It’s a classic, it’s creepy, and it’s still pretty!
12. Frankenstein Illusion

Next up, I have another skeleton look to share. This one is both glitzy and really unique.
For this, the artist has kept one side of her face looking totally glam, while the other has a skull illusion. The skeleton part is glittery and covered in rhinestones.
This is another pretty yet spooky look that would be perfect for Halloween nights out at a club since you can look cute but still festive.
15. Catwoman Makeup
Source: @mollyiles_makeupartist
You can be fierce this Halloween with a half-makeup look like this one. Here we have a look based on Catwoman. As you can see, she’s got the black cat mask, and her makeup is super glam.
Heroes and villains are always great choices for Halloween, and Catwoman is definitely one of the best. You can find all kinds of her suits online to create the complete look.
If you’re in a pinch, just throw on a black top with black leggings and some killer heels and you’re good to go!
16. Half Pumpkin
Source: @shansglamx
Pumpkins are another Halloween classic, and here’s a cool half-and-half design. As you can see, one eye is left glam while the other has the look of a classic Halloween pumpkin.
This is a fun idea, and you can make it as scary or as cute as you want. You could recreate this look or even tone it down by using less of the pumpkin makeup.
17. Cracked Skeleton Makeup
Source: @nicoleguerriero
Next, we have another skeleton makeup idea to show you. This one uses a cracked design, making it look like the skin has broken off to reveal a purple skeleton underneath.
It’s a colorful, scary, and cool makeup idea. You can recreate the purple look or use any color you like for the skull. The tutorial for this look is down below, so be sure to check it out!
18. Spooky Egyptian Queen
Source: @miriammelonn
Looking for a unique and creepy half-and-half makeup idea? If so, this one’s for you. Here we have half a skeleton and half an Ancient Egyptian Queen.
I love this because it combines two classic Halloween costumes into one. Something like this would be pretty simple to recreate. I would definitely recommend wearing an Ancient Egyptian inspired costume to go with it.
19. Skeleton Makeup with Rhinestones
Source: @pala_foxxia
The first half-face Halloween makeup idea features a skeleton paired with some rhinestones. Half of her face is super glam, while the other side has a spooky skeleton look.
This is such a fun idea because you get to look sparkly and stylish while also being scary. It’s a great half-makeup look for nights out during the Halloween season because it feels celebratory but isn’t over the top.
20. Halloween Pumpkin Illusion
Source: @a.j_artistry
Next up, we have another pumpkin illusion. This time, it has a bit of a circus vibe. The top half of her face looks like a pumpkin, while her nose and lips have more of a clown look.
This is such a quirky and creepy illusion idea. You can recreate this or try the pumpkin design with a normal lip color instead of the clown style.
21. Glam Skeleton
Source: @creative.cliche
Are you into glam but spooky ideas? If so, this one is for you.
For this look, we have an Ancient Egyptian style on the top half with the black eyeliner and accessories, while the bottom half of her face looks like a skeleton.
This is such a unique concept and it’s perfect for anyone who wants to try something a little different.
22. Purple Half Face Halloween Makeup

She finished off the look with some rhinestones, too. This is a bold and sparkly idea that is perfect for Halloween parties. You can find face rhinestones like these online.
23. Half Black and White Look
Source: @eirebrush
This next idea is another really unique one. For this look, the artist has colored one side of her face black and white while the other side is colorful.
This creates a sketch-like effect, so her face looks like a drawing. It’s a very unusual and cool idea, and it’s great for those who want something different. You could try this or even make the colorful side of your face spooky for Halloween.
